ABOUT USWelcome to the Iowa Wound Ostomy Continence
Nurse Affiliate Website! Thank you for visiting the Iowa WOCN
website! We hope you will consider membership in the WOCN Society
and choose the Iowa WOCN Affiliate for your professional
organization. The Iowa WOCN Affiliate consists of more than 100
active members across the state of Iowa and beyond. We are proud
that our affiliate is a strong, collegial group of WOC Nurses who
serve voluntarily in affiliate and national organization committees
and activities. The Iowa WOCN Affiliate conducts a business meeting
three times a year; winter, spring and in conjunction with our
annual fall conference. Meeting dates, times and locations are
posted on this website. We use our website and email for
organization correspondence and information. You will also find
meeting agendas, minutes, treasury reports, affiliate news,
educational offerings, awards, applications, committee updates and
links to other organizations on the website. We also offer a GOOGLE
chat room that can be used to network with members. The Iowa WOCN
Affiliate sponsors an annual fall conference that offers full scope
WOC nurse continuing education. We put great effort into planning
and organizing our conference. The festivities begin on Thursday
evening with dinner, our business meeting and a vendor fair. The
Iowa WOCN Affiliate is proud of our collaboration with our corporate
vendors and we appreciate their support. On Friday we have a full
day of speakers who cover topics in wound, ostomy, continence and
professional practice issues. We also proudly sponsor an Ostomy
Education Day which was developed by a group of our members. This
day is designed to provide education, vendor access, support and
networking for people with ostomies and their caregivers statewide.

Affiliate offers a WOC Nurse Education Scholarships to nurses who
have completed a WOC Nurse program. We present a WOC nurse of the
Year award annually at our fall conference. See the website for
